Website and membership terms

These terms describe use of the World Platycerium Society website and its free membership. Contact contribute@worldplatycerium.com with questions.
Your account
Use an account you control and keep your sign-in access secure. Choose a display name that does not impersonate another person or mislead other members. Membership does not grant research-editing or administrator access. If you use Google sign-in, you must meet the eligibility requirements of that account. If you use email sign-in, use an address you control and keep your sign-in links private.
Community conduct
A place to learn, not a marketplace. Ask questions, share growing experience, and show us your plants!
We encourage you to upload photos of your own plants alongside questions, replies, and growing updates in each plant’s community section. Community posts and photos are separate from the curated plant record. Only upload photos you took or have permission to share, and credit the photographer when appropriate.
Sales listings, prices or availability offers, affiliate links, unsolicited business promotion, and ‘DM me to buy’ posts aren’t allowed.
Relevant nursery or breeder references are welcome when they help answer a question; disclose any personal connection. Be respectful and keep advice relevant to the plant.
WPS may restrict or suspend participation for abuse or rule violations. Discussions and other participation features will become available only after their moderation tools are ready.
Registry information and image rights
The registry is a developing educational resource. Read each record’s review status, sources, and qualifications. Plant identity, reported lineage, and growing advice may change as evidence improves; growing conditions and outcomes vary. Photographs and other materials retain their stated credits and rights. Membership does not grant permission to reuse another person’s images or work. Research and photo contributions may be subject to separate publication permissions.
Privacy and ending membership
Read our privacy policy for information about sign-in data and analytics. You can delete your account from your account settings. You can stop using the service at any time.
Updates
WPS may update the website, available features, and these terms. Updated terms will be posted here. Significant changes affecting membership will be communicated through the website.
